Why this works for universal kids resort

Built for the 3-9 age range

Universal Kids Resort is built specifically for younger kids (Universal's own framing — smaller scale than Universal Florida). Our DreamScape property maps directly onto this audience: splashpad, fire pole, fully fenced backyard for unsupervised play.

Recovery between park days

Theme-park days are exhausting for everyone. A backyard splashpad and pool let kids burn off energy without leaving the property. Smart TVs in every room and outdoor projectors at three of four properties make movie nights easy.

Frisco itself is family-built

Beyond Universal Kids Resort, Frisco has The Star (Cowboys HQ), the Frisco Discovery Center, Stonebriar Centre, the National Videogame Museum, and a strong family-restaurant scene. Easy to build a 5-7 day Texas trip around the park.

House beats hotel for theme-park trips

Group-sized kitchens for picky-eater breakfasts, multiple bedrooms so kids and parents don't share a room after long park days, private laundry for the inevitable post-splashpad outfit changes.

What we know about the park

Universal has confirmed seven themed lands (Gabby's Dollhouse, Trolls, Shrek, Puss in Boots, Jurassic World, SpongeBob, Despicable Me) and a 300-room on-site hotel. The park opens July 1, 2026, and tickets are now on sale. See our [Universal Kids Resort guide](/guides/universal-kids-resort) for the full status.

Pacing a multi-day visit

Smaller-scale parks favor shorter visits — most families can see the whole park in 1.5 to 2 days. Build the trip as: park day, recovery day at the property (splashpad + pool), park day, then a non-park day at The Star or Stonebriar. Texas heat in summer makes morning park visits + afternoon pool the natural rhythm.

Common questions

When does Universal Kids Resort open?
Universal Kids Resort opens July 1, 2026 — a date Universal has officially confirmed, with tickets, packages, and the first annual pass now on sale. Check our [Universal Kids Resort guide](/guides/universal-kids-resort) for pricing and planning details.
Which property is best for a Universal Kids trip?
DreamScape — splashpad maps perfectly to the park's 3-9 target audience. The Indigo Oasis or Frisco Waves & Fairways are good for larger family groups; The Palmera is better for families with older kids.
How far is the park from your properties?
10-15 minutes by car from any of our four properties. Universal Kids Resort is in northwest Frisco at 13850 Dallas Parkway.
What ages is the park designed for?
Universal has framed it as a park built for younger families — kids ages 3 to 9. Smaller in scale than Universal Studios Florida, focused on character experiences rather than thrill rides.
Is there a hotel at the park?
Yes — a 300-room on-site hotel is part of the resort. For families that want kitchens, fenced backyards, splashpads, and multiple bedrooms, a vacation rental in Frisco proper is usually a better fit.
What else is there to do in Frisco for families?
The Star (Cowboys HQ), Frisco Discovery Center, National Videogame Museum, Stonebriar Centre, PGA Frisco (for golf-curious older kids), and a strong family-restaurant scene. Easy to build a 5-7 day trip.
